The Strength of Duality
Chapter 122 Injuries? Who Cares
The late stage specimen rushed ahead and punched at Yun Tian. He met the fist with his own. He did not move at all, staying completely stationary while the gorilla was knocked back more than ten steps. At the same time, the gorilla felt its fist aching.
It still did not back down even after realizing Yun Tian’s strength was greater than its own. Instead, it rejoined its companions and the six of them came at him together.
He let the others rain their attacks on him, while he had his full attention on the late stage one. He could not let it punch him while purely relying on his defensive abilities.
His fist met the gorilla’s once again, but this time the result wasn’t as great for Yun Tian with the other gorillas supporting the late stage gorilla.
He was the one pushed back this time while not being able to fully block the attacks coming at him. He suffered some injuries, but rushed back to fight nonetheless. He also still had no plans on using his sword. If he took it out the fight would be much easier, but it would not allow him to improve much.
He wanted to take every opportunity he had to improve.
He rushed back towards them and swung his fist at the late stage one. It was caught off guard by his quick recovery even though he wasn’t using any movement techniques. It quickly blocked with a punch of its own, but was knocked back nonetheless.
The others assaulted him right after, but he managed to swing his fist at one while enduring the attacks of the other five. The one he attacked was knocked back and suffered great injuries. He had put a lot of strength behind that attack. Its arm was greatly injured and could barely be used anymore.
He also kicked away another one injuring it as well. They all came after him again and he was forced to fight the late stage one while enduring the attacks of the others.
It became similar to the fight he had against the first late stage gorilla, but now he also had six mid stage gorillas supporting his opponent.
He traded blows with the late stage ones, while the others tried their best with their punches creating loud thuds as they landed on his body and qi shields.
He did not completely overlook the mid stage ones though. By either creating opportunities or forcefully taking the late stage gorilla’s attacks head on, he would attack the mid stage ones from time to time as well causing great injuries to them.
He did not change his battle style even now as more and more injuries appeared on his body. He only endured it all and kept swinging at his opponents. With the late stage gorilla bearing the brunt of his strikes, it took a long time, but he managed to whittle down the mid stage gorillas until it was just him and the late stage one.
The late stage gorilla was absolutely furious and attacked without care for itself. There were bodies of its kind all around it. It was the only one left standing of its kind.
It was injured by Yun Tian, but his injuries appeared even more severe.
His body was covered in bruises and blood all over him. One of his arms was even greatly injured and in severe pain, but he still swung it at his opponent supported by his qi and will.
His entire body was in pain, but he just continued to support it with qi and spread demonic qi throughout it.
The gorilla thought it would win at this point with how severe his injuries were, but the battle still went on for much longer. With how severe his injuries were, Yun Tian could not gain the upper hand, but he never stopped and just continued to swing his fists at his opponent no matter how bad his injuries got or how much blood he coughed up.
The gorilla got even more desperate at this point. It had no idea how its opponent that basically looked like a dead body at this point was still fighting.
It even tried to bite him since punching wasn’t working. Yun Tian welcomed its teeth with his fist. He knocked most of them out of its mouth while also dazing it. He did not let up and managed to push it down to the ground where he kept swinging his fists at its chest until he heard a crack and the gorilla’s eyes became lifeless.
Then, there was silence. The thuds and grunts that had constantly sounded while he fought the gorillas finally ended.
He stood up and whistled.
Covered in blood and bruises, with knuckles so bloody and bruised you could almost see his bone underneath.
The wolves heard his whistle and came over to see him in this appearance. They were obviously worried, but Yun Tian preemptively said, “I’m fine. Let’s just get out of here. We have been here far too long and I am too injured to fight if a peak stage demonic beast shows up. Gather the bodies.”
He stood there and started to put away the bodies as the wolves brought the rest to him.
After putting away the many, many bodies. They left while Yun Tian covered his injuries with qi to make sure no blood leaked and left a trail. He could at least manage that.
They quickly left the area and went straight back to where Shen Yu was.
They returned and Yun Jin and Shen Yu got up to welcome them back. The wolves switched out who would stay behind as they went out to hunt.
When they saw Yun Tian’s awful state Shen Yu rushed over and happened to look into his eyes. What she saw though made her sigh.
In his eyes she could see a strong will and that his resolve to fight had only grown. Even after all these injuries.
She had already tried many times to dissuade him and after looking into his eyes now, she knew nothing she said would help. So, she just grabbed him and pulled him downward to force him to lie against her.
“What are you doing, recover quickly. Then we can talk,” she said afterwards.
Yun Tian smiled and felt warmth at the care she showed for him.
