Chapter 189 Yu’er Better Be Safe

Yun Tian had already decided that he wouldn’t allow anyone besides Shen Yu and the wolves to see him in a weak state after everything he had been through.

He had gotten lucky last time with Wu Chen, he didn’t think the same thing would happen again nor would he tempt fate. Especially not in town after everything he had shown them, not even Luo Tai with his seemingly good intentions and even when he was indeed in a weak state he put on a strong front to fool them.

This time was only a freak accident as he didn’t know that Bolin would absorb so much of the demonic qi he was counting on.

He could have stopped the flow of his demonic qi and kept some more to protect them, but he went along with it at the time thinking, ‘It’s worth going through some risk to make sure his recovery is perfect. I just have to continue acting the same I have been. Besides, even if I’m drained dry I think I can still run away with him even if a fight breaks out with that old man.’

Now though, they were away from town and relatively safe. The first thing he had to do though was rest his mind for a moment. He was just that mentally exhausted. 

He let go of his thoughts and rested for a few minutes while doing absolutely nothing.

He only allowed himself a few minutes of rest though and when he felt he was able to do some stuff for a while, he then immediately began recovering.

After getting a little rest, the first thing on his mind was to become battle ready once more by recovering his reserves of energy. So, he took out a late stage demonic core and started to recover his qi.

His absorption and recovery rate had increased with the last breakthrough, but so had the pure immensity of his reserves. So, he quickly went through the first demonic core and had to pull out multiple more to completely recover. This was along with him pulling in lots of qi from his surroundings too.

He took around half an hour and eventually recovered his massive reserves in both his dantian and demonic core but didn’t get up just yet.

He had recovered his qi, but his body still needed some recovery time. His body felt sore and was aching all over.

After improving in his comprehension of the Wolf’s lightning skill and with the way it changed, it now took a higher toll on his body. And, he had poured everything he had into it along with using it for hours.

He kept on absorbing qi and poured demonic qi throughout his body to get rid of the soreness he felt and help his body completely recover. It wasn’t only the skill that made his body sore too, he had pushed his body extremely hard while rushing with Bolin, not just by enduring the skill, but by also just using his body to the very best of its ability the entire time. So, he didn’t only feel just a little sore.

His body’s recovery took a little longer than the recovery of his qi, but at the end he was happy as he felt his body had gotten more than a little stronger. His body also felt somewhat lighter as if some of the impurities in his skin and body had been burnt away.

‘So the Wolf’s Lightning Skill can also be seen as another form of tempering my body,’ were his thoughts as he stood up and moved around a bit.

Even after that was done, he didn’t leave quite yet.

He stayed there resting and meditating to let his mind rest to get rid of built up fatigue. The few minutes he spent resting beforehand were nowhere near enough. That was just to get him through his recovery.

Now though, he was completely battle ready and could let his mind rest completely at peace knowing he was back at full strength.

He sat there for another full hour not moving a single muscle, just resting and meditating. After this hour was over, he got up right away.

He had only rested for around two and a half hours in total and was still a little tired both mentally and physically, but he didn’t want to rest for any longer. Especially so close to Zhenmen town. 

‘The wealth I showed in Zhenmen town was quite large and since no one would know who I am, they might think I don’t have a strong background. I don’t care about most of them, even those peak Dantian Building experts, but if I attracted the attention of someone above Dantian Building, it could be quite dangerous.’

With these thoughts fueling him, he didn’t want to stay here for too long right now. So, he picked up Bolin and then went on his way back down the path.

‘Yu’er, Qing, Jin, Zan, Zhi I am coming back now, you better be safe.’

He was actually quite worried about them as two of the wolves were injured when he left and there was the big commotion with his breakthrough and the bear right before he left. Besides that, he also just felt nervous after being away from Shen Yu for so long.

‘This would be the first time we have been apart for so long since Mom and Dad…’

He sighed and stopped thinking about it as he let his mind wander.

He travelled down the path using the crane flight skill as the qi he used with it was quite negligible and it was quite suited for long distance travel. He looked like a graceful bird as he basically flew over each of the craters in the path.

As he did this and looked at each of the craters he suddenly smiled while feeling a little guilt.

‘I caused a lot of damage to this road huh.’

When he first saw the path it was nice and clean with only some vegetation on the sides, but now the thing looked like it had been a warzone with the many craters throughout it. Although it was but a simple dirt path that was only big enough to fit four carriages it was still great for those travelling on it.

Now though, the entire thing was filled with many spots of destruction from his rough use of the Wolf’s lightning skill while travelling on it.
