The Strength of Duality

Chapter 196 Carriage Forming New Figures

Yao Fei inwardly praised his intelligence once again as she explained, “It depends on the core, but usually they last at least a few weeks each.”

Hearing that, Yun Tian was more than satisfied. ‘All I would need to do is just go hunt once and then this thing could allow me to travel within for a long time while resting and cultivating. I don’t need to waste time while travelling.’

He quickly reminded himself though, ‘Ah! What are you thinking? This thing isn’t yours. And it's not like I can just take it. Whatever, I’m going to be using it with her for a while.’

After coming to this realization, he said, “Since that’s the case, put these in there for now.”

As he said that, he took out four late stage demonic cores and threw them over. He just spent some peak stage demonic cores and he also needed them for his cultivation. He couldn’t afford to spend them just to go a little faster just yet.

Still, his seemingly uncaring attitude towards such precious late stage demonic cores made Yao Fei completely flabbergasted. Even though she had gotten the few late stage demonic cores from Yun Tian she hadn’t even thought for a second about using them to power the carriage.

At her side, the tiger also salivated while looking at the cores.

Yao Fei managed to stutter a response though, “Are, are you sure?”

Yun Tian just nodded and Yao Fei hesitantly proceeded to take out the two cores in the imprints and then put her hand on the top of the podium. Afterward the imprint on the side enlarged enough for the late stage cores to fit before she then inserted them.

As she did this, the ethereal horses outside became unstable and faded away, dispersing into qi that drifted away. The two ropes and harnesses that were previously on them also dispersed seemingly formed out of qi just like them.

Once the new late stage cores replaced the old early stage ones, the carriage trembled for a moment and Yun Tian felt something being drawn out of the demonic cores on the podium.

The next second, he looked to the window looking out the front and saw four ropes slowly form out of the front of the carriage. Qi extended out of the carriage along with qi being drawn from around the ropes slowly forming ghostly grey ropes. Ultimately, they formed into four harnesses and within these harnesses qi started to gather into balls of mist.

Qi flowed through the ropes into the mist of qi and the qi around them was also drawn in. The qi gathered together becoming denser and forming a more distinct and material shape of big cat like beasts.

Eventually four ghostly figures came into being. They were four panthers and they weren’t white like the previous two horses. The previous two horses looked a ghostly white with their figures being a little indistinct in certain spots. As for the new four panthers, while they still had some blurry spots on them and still looked like fluorescent ghosts, they at least retained their previous black color and some of their strong aura they had while alive.

In the space within the carriage, Yao Fei looked out the window with great awe at the four newly formed panthers.

As she saw their magnificent figures that just screamed speed, she thought, ‘It's impressive enough that he decided to try choosing cores belonging to fast creatures while unaware if it affected the figures formed, but he also has so many cores that he can just choose four of them that belonged to fast panthers?!’

Yun Tian had made sure to pick out demonic cores belonging to fast beasts. Panthers were a somewhat common animal he found within the forests and were also one of the fastest.

He smiled and asked, “Well? Can it go faster now?”

Yao Fei gulped and said, “Yes.”

The panthers in front of the carriage exuded a much greater aura than even the living horses the Elders were riding now. Except if you looked within their eyes there was still no hint of intelligence at all.

Still, their aura startled the Elders and the horses.

The Elder’s thought, ‘Even if we had Hu’s help we might not be able to take on all these panthers if they were alive right now.’

Yao Fei was still staring at the panthers, but her excitement suddenly died out as she realized, ‘Wait, we can go much faster now, but the horses won’t be able to keep up.’

She thought about what she should do and became resolute as she decided, ‘Fine. If he wanted to harm me, having one or two more of the Elders around wouldn’t help anyway.’

She asked Yun Tian, “Are you ready to set off then?”

Yun Tian nodded as he looked in satisfaction at the newly formed panthers.

Yao Fei replied, “Okay we can leave in a moment, but let me go have my Elders do some stuff first.”

Yun Tian nodded and said, “Alright.”

After that, he put Bolin down on a bed and brought a couch near it before sitting on it. He casually looked at her as if saying, why haven’t you left yet then?

Yao Fei shook her head at his shameless attitude and left through the door.

Once she was out the Elder’s asked, “Miss what’s going on?”

“Our guest gave me some late stage cores to put in the carriage so it could go faster.”

One of them replied back, “But miss, our horses won’t be able to keep up now.”

She nodded her head and said, “Yes, I know. That’s why two of you will take all the horses and go back to inform father of what happened. Tell him that I am bringing him back. Who knows I might beat you back with carriages' improved speed now. It all depends on the business he spoke of.”

“Elder Xiao and Elder Kai, can you two do this?” She spoke to one late and one mid stage Elder.

The five of them exchanged glances between each other and realized this did indeed seem to be the best thing to do.
