The Strength of Duality

Chapter 197 Four Doors

The two Elder’s replied to Yao Fei, “No problem, young miss. Be careful. We will see you again soon.”

They exchanged glances with the three who were staying before they gathered the three horses with leads and then leapt onto their own horses. They sped away with all five towards Zhenmen town, their ultimate goal being returning to the Blood Beast Sect.

After they left, Yao Fei said, “Okay, since that’s done with, Elder Song can you direct the carriage at the front?”

This Elder Song was the other late stage expert. He nodded yes before turning to the other two and saying: “I will keep watch. So, you two will go inside with the young miss.”

They nodded their heads while Yao Fei was a little embarrassed inside as he knew he was saying this so it wouldn’t be just her and Yun Tian inside.

She brushed it off and said, “Let’s get going then. We have already made him wait for a while.”

She kept on calling Yun Tian “him” and similar things as she didn’t want to call him something informal, but she also felt embarrassed about calling him “sir” or something like that. Especially as it was just her and her Elders out here.

The Elder’s didn’t notice her odd way of referring to Yun Tian though. They were only focused on protecting their young miss.

The late stage expert went to the front of the carriage and sat down at the seat there. He put his hand on the seat beside him where an insignia similar to the one inside the carriage lay.

Yao Fei walked back into the carriage along with the two Elders and then the carriage departed as Elder Song poured some qi into the formation. Yun Tian noticed the three of them come in, but his attention was on the window as he looked outside. At the same time, he was comprehending the strange feelings he had, or rather didn’t have.

‘Huh. It doesn’t even feel as if we are moving, but I can still sense the surroundings outside the carriage changing rapidly and it looks as if we are moving if you look out the window. This carriage is really a great artifact. I wonder who could have made such a magical thing?’

As for Yao Fei and the two Elders’, their attention was the tiger in the far left corner of the room. Yun Tian was in the corner directly to the right of the door meaning the tiger was as far away from him as possible.

After they saw this scene the three of them could only inwardly sigh at how strong Yun Tian was to scare the tiger so much. Yao Fei could tell this is where it preferred to be right now so she didn’t try calling it over either.

It had gotten more afraid after Yao Fei left it alone with Yun Tian. It also didn’t help that he had nothing better to do while waiting so he stared at it more intensely to inspect it further, causing it to run as far away as possible.

Yun Tian dismissed his amazement at the carriage's capabilities and made a quick calculation in his head, “At this rate, we should be able to make it to the people waiting for me in around twelve hours.”

Yao Fei nodded and said, “That’s good. May I ask if you would like to cultivate for a while now or?”

Yun Tian replied, “Actually, I would like to ask you a few more things first if you don’t mind.”

Yao Fei sat with the Elders on a couch near Yun Tian as she said calmly, “Ask away.”

Yun Tian looked at the wall with four doors as he asked, “Do those doors actually go to four more rooms?”

Yao Fei had been expecting him to ask this eventually so she only calmly said, “Three of them indeed do.”

Yun Tian replied confusedly, “Only three of them, what about the fourth?”

Yao Fei pointed to the door to the furthest right as she said, “You see that door? It won’t open no matter what we do. Even my father tried all sorts of things including even trying to break it down, but nothing worked. Not only that, he couldn’t even tell what was keeping it shut. It could be some array or even just something extremely heavy behind it that keeps it shut, we have no idea.”

Yun Tian’s curiosity was invigorated hearing that. With bright eyes he asked, “Mind if I give it a try?”

Yao Fei’s eyes brightened for a second along with the eyes of the Elder’s next to her as she said, “Go ahead.”

This kid in front of them was an enigma and a very powerful one at that. If he was able to open the door, they might very well get some benefits. They didn’t hope for all that lay behind the door even if he did manage to open it as even if they were on good terms now, treasure and benefits was still above friendship in the cultivation world.

But seeing as this carriage belongs to them and the fact that they were all on good terms they thought Yun Tian wouldn’t be so ungrateful as to take everything. Especially with how he acted so far.

Before he got up though, Yun Tian looked at Bolin on the bed next to him for a moment wondering, ‘Can I leave him on the bed or should I carry him with me?’

He looked at Yao Fei and her elder’s again as he thought, ‘They seem to truly want to befriend me. They have also seen my strength and killing intent. They should know what will happen if they try anything untoward. Besides, Bolin is merely resting, if anything truly happens he will just wake up and he alone is enough to deal with the two Elders.’

With that he stood up and walked through the room and stopped in front of the all while door. He tried to see if he could feel or sense anything from it.
