The Strength of Duality
Chapter 200 Almost There
Yun Tian fully focused on absorbing the qi in the demonic core and it was all gone in a little over two hours.
‘It took me around four hours for a peak stage demonic core previously. This is great!’
He was ecstatic not just at the increase of absorption speed but also at the feeling he got as his demonic core slowly got closer to being full. He not only wanted to get stronger to achieve his goals, but also genuinely enjoyed the feeling of getting stronger.
His thoughts calmed down and he completely immersed himself in his cultivation session as if the world around him no longer existed, it was just him and his growing strength.
He absorbed five demonic cores as time slowly passed. As it grew closer to the twelve hours he estimated it would take to arrive back to where he left Shen Yu and the rest, he broke out of his cultivation feeling full of energy and new strength.
‘It won’t be long now until I break through with my demonic core.’
He turned to his right and saw that Bolin was also awake.
In fact, he was absorbing the energy of a demonic core Yun Tian had left out for the wolf and silently using his demonic qi to further heal and strengthen his body making sure no injuries were left.
The wolf noticed him open his eyes and also stopped what he was doing as he looked at Yun Tian.
Yun Tian noticed the questions held within the wolf’s gaze so he said, “I hitched us a ride on a special carriage. This carriage is quite magical. This room we are in right now is even bigger than the carriage seems from the outside.”
Bolin's gaze didn’t change much even after this as he didn’t quite get what that meant.
Yun Tian realized this as well so he said, “The important part is that the people who own the carriage gave me a pill that helped to save your life and aren’t very strong.”
Bolin’s eyes brightened with relief as he heard the words, “helped” and, "aren’t very strong”.
Yun Tian laughed and said, “Let’s go outside so I can introduce you. We should also be arriving at where we left Shen Yu and the rest soon.”
Bolin’s eyes brightened more than ever hearing that. He was happy that they were going to meet back up with them soon and he could make sure they were safe.
Yun Tian shook his head, ‘This guy seemingly cares more about others than himself. What a ‘demonic beast’.’
With these thoughts running through his head, a smile surfaced on his face as he walked towards the exit of the room.
He opened the door and walked out. Immediately, the two Elders who had been sitting on the sides of the carriage’s entrance opened their eyes and the one on the left questioned, “Are we arriving soon?”
Yun Tian nodded and said, “They might be waiting on the side of the path somewhere so I will go outside and look out for them. If they aren’t, we will soon be arriving at where I left them. It's not far out from the path so when we arrive there I will just go fetch them.”
He added at the end, “Oh and Bolin is awake now.”
As he said that, Bolin walked out from the door behind him in a grandiose manner. His bright yellow eyes filled with a vigilant light stood out among his magnificent and glossy brown fur. His large stature and sharp teeth were slightly revealed and would give anyone goosebumps. Overall he was the picture of a dangerous animal.
In this world though, appearance wasn’t what people were scared by. Bolin’s scariest feature was instead his strong aura he radiated and great ferocity that just leaked out of his gaze. Yun Tian said that these people helped him, but even then he wouldn’t trust them and had to display his might.
And they certainly saw it, the two Elder’s felt goosebumps and thought, ‘He seems almost on par with Hu! How is that possible?’
It was impossible for them to sense his aura if he was hiding it or not displaying it, but Bolin was actively showing off his might to them.
Yun Tian, didn’t mind the wolf’s antics as he knew this was part of his character and especially after what Bolin did to protect him, he could never get mad at him. The two of them held their breaths until Bolin came in front of Yun Tian. It was only then that he put his hand on the wolf and said, “Alright Bolin, I think they get the point.”
With that the wolf stopped showing off its might and the ferocity in its gaze became somewhat restrained.
The Elder’s took a sigh of relief and one of them even thought, ‘No wonder the two of them are so close. Their gazes filled with power and ferocity are so similar, but the kid’s is still even scarier and stronger than the wolf’s.’
The incident only lasted a moment and Yun Tian just brushed it off. He said, “Well this is Bolin. Once again thank you for helping me out before.”
The two of them could only awkwardly nod under Bolin’s stare.
One of them said, “Before you go out would you like to speak to the young miss?”
Yun Tian said, “No need to for now, we can introduce everyone to each other after we arrive, there’s no need to do it now.”
They nodded and said, “Then I will signal Elder Song to stop for a moment,” as he reached into his robe and took out what appeared to be a talisman before sending in some qi.
Seeing Yun Tian’s inquisitive gaze the Elder explained, “This thing isn’t much. It comes in pairs and if you send qi into one of them, the other one will light up. That is all it can do. It also doesn’t have a very far range, only working up to a kilometer away.”
Yun Tian nodded thinking, ‘That indeed isn’t very impressive but it is the first talisman like thing I have seen in this world. I have seen pills, Spirit grade swords and the like, but I still have no idea how they work or are made. From stories on earth, it is very possible there are things like arrays, formations, and all sorts of things.’
Seeing this somewhat confirmed some of his guesses about the things possible in this world.
