Chapter 204 Tragedy Stirring Up Greatness

Inside the room, Yun Tian and Shen Yu were sitting next to each other with the wolves surrounding them. The wolves had already started cultivating with some of the demonic cores he took out for them.

Yun Tian and Shen Yu were talking about some things before they started.

“I think it's a great idea to visit the Blood Beast Sect,” Shen Yu commented.

Yun Tian said, “Yes, visiting a strong force will allow us to gain much information. Oh, by the way, the next realm of cultivation after Dantian Building seems to be the Golden Core realm.”

Hearing about this however only dampened her spirits as she sighed.

Shen Yu thought back to their childhood when she wasn’t allowed to cultivate yet Yun Tian was already quickly progressing through the Meridian Opening Realm, ‘Tian is getting so far away once again.’

She quickly put away those thoughts and said, "So our immediate plan is to first stop at Zhenmen town for supplies and then continue our journey right?"

Yun Tian raised an eyebrow at her changing the subject but still said, "Yeah. I have plenty of resources for my demonic core right now and I can get more by going hunting with the wolves. I can use the cores for my dantian too, but if I do that there is a good amount of the energy that is wasted and the speed of cultivating is slowed down. I would rather just focus on my demonic core at that rate."

"Besides, I have a lot of lower grade cores, demonic beasts’ bodies, and other things to sell too. I should be able to get a very large number of pills and other things."

Shen Yu nodded her head and said, “Okay let’s start cultivating for now then.”

“Yeah. It should take us around a day to get to Zhenmen town. I would like to ask Yao Fei some more questions. So, I figured we would cultivate for the next twenty-two-ish hours and then stop.”

Shen Yu nodded her head and stayed in her spot next to Yun Tian as she started cultivating.

Yun Tian also started cultivating with thoughts of his next breakthrough running through his mind, ‘I don’t think I will be able to break through with my demonic core before we reach Zhenmen town and I also need to stock up on more peak stage demonic cores anyway. After we pass Zhenmen town I will have us stop and go hunting with the wolves.’

After these thoughts he cleared his mind and began cultivating. He only stopped when Shen Yu laid her head on his lap around ten hours in.

He thought for a moment and decided he could use some rest too.

He laid back against a wolf and pulled up Shen Yu so she was laying against his chest.

Several hours later he got up as he felt a large source of qi next to him fluctuating. To his side, Bolin had stood up and the demonic qi within the wolf was rapidly growing and subsiding in waves.

That wasn’t all as what really grabbed Yun Tian’s attention was, ‘My blood stirred for a moment and from the other wolves confusion, it looks like they can feel something unnatural too, but it seems to not be a problem for them.’

But as he looked at Shen Yu’s face which started to display discomfort he immediately made up his mind as he said, “I’m gonna bring Shen Yu out. You guys go out there with her. I will watch over him.”

After that, he wasted no time in picking up Shen Yu and walking to the door. The other wolves trusted him and followed his words without question as they followed behind him.

He opened the door and walked out to see the two Elders cultivating on some mats.

He wasted no time and didn’t even let them question him as he said, “No time. Bolin is breaking through. Don't disturb us for the moment.”

He put Shen Yu down on a couch as the wolves surrounded her before he immediately went back to Bolin.

He opened the door and walked over to the wolf. He felt the energy within the wolf greatly increasing and the wolf’s flow of blood was increasing in speed. At the same time he noticed streaks of red appear in the wolf’s fur and other patches turn white at the same time.

‘Everything seems to be going well. It seems his strength will grow to the point where he might be able to face a peak stage demonic beast. As for the colors appearing in the wolf’s fur and their different abilities, I am still too ignorant of the things in this world.’

Yun Tian had previously left a large pile of late stage cores out for the wolves and Yun Tian was excited as he saw Bolin pick up three of them into his mouth before swallowing.

One has to remember that the wolves weren’t like Yun Tian. They needed a long time just to absorb one core let alone one above their stage.

If Bolin thought he could handle three late stage cores at once then he was excited to see the outcome.

His excitement quickly died down though as he felt the energies of the cores explode within the wolf and start to wreak havoc in the wolf’s body.

‘What was he thinking!?’

He had thought Bolin had some plan or really had become strong enough to contain the cores, but he just let the energies within flow through him unabated.

Yun Tian was about to put his hands on the wolf and pour his qi into his body to help him contain the energy when he noticed the wolf’s eyes turn a bloody red.

‘My blood slowed down even more than before for a moment.’

He had this thought and stopped for a moment before quickly coming to his senses and moving to help, but he stopped once more as he noticed the wolf still showed no signs of collapsing.

In fact, he hadn’t done so much as even cough up blood. Instead, he could tell the blood in the wolf’s body was circulating increasingly faster and he felt the wolf’s aura increase in intensity instead of decreasing because of injuries.
