The Strength of Duality

Chapter 211 Indecisive

Seeing her state, Yun Tian felt conflicted as well. Initially, he had a good impression of her, but if she didn’t have the courage to risk her life even with her great techniques and weapons given by her father and sect, then he would only think of her as someone who grew up with a silver spoon and had nothing to show for it.

He thought, ‘She tried to act tough and even wore clothes like a tomboy, but on the inside it seems her will and courage are actually quite weak.’

However, he also understood that after being protected her entire life this must be a hard choice. Still, that wouldn’t change his opinion.

Just this little stall though, regardless of her choice, made his opinion of her greatly lower.

He looked at Shen Yu in his arms and even though he wished it wasn’t true, he couldn’t help but think, ‘Although I don’t necessarily enjoy the thought, if Shen Yu was given the choice to either stand there and be protected by me or being able to fight next to or even in front of me, she would immediately choose the latter. Even if she had to risk her life Shen Yu would do all she had to in order to become stronger.’

He couldn’t help but think about the times in the past where she asked him not to take so many risks, ‘She may say she would be fine with us just settling down somewhere and forgetting revenge but that is only because she knows her own strength is insufficient. If our strengths were reversed we would just be in the opposite situation where I was asking her to not risk her life instead. Even with her weaker abilities now, if she was given a chance to become stronger but it also required a great risk, she would definitely take it.’

He hated to think all of this, but he knew it was true. He couldn’t help but feel proud, upset, and all other kinds of emotions.

However, as he looked at Yao Fei, she clenched her fists and even started sweating. He couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed about the other talents of the world.

It was only two minutes later that Yao Fei finally said, “If I do this, will you join the Blood Beast Sect? Even if I die you have to join.”

Yun Tian was surprised and then his face darkened.

At the same time, Shen Yu's ears perked up waiting for his answer. She greatly hoped for him to join this powerful force.

As for Yun Tian, he had other thoughts and deeply sighed before saying: “How about this, I will join regardless of your choice. Don’t worry about that.”

Shen Yu was happy hearing this and although this seemed like good news for her, Yao Fei was only happy for a moment before her mood once again dropped.

Yun Tian's words had only made her indecisive once again. This was his intent. If he said, yes, that would potentially make the choice easier for her. He wanted her will to be the deciding factor here and nothing else, just like it was his will that made him continue to cultivate for years despite no progress on his breakthrough.

As for whether he really would join or not, her decision was irrelevant.

Things once again went silent as a stalemate was reached.

Two minutes passed by and Yun Tian was about to say something when he looked deeper into the forest and smiled before saying, “Retrieve your weapons. We will continue this another time.”

Yao Fei was confused but quickly followed his instructions. She at least knew to follow instructions quickly when in dangerous places.

While they were talking, the vines had completely drained the blood of the boar before they once again coiled up and returned to their grey shield looking state, with their redness just disappearing. The shield was on top of the boar’s corpse and next to it lay the whip and newly reconnected “flower.”

The two of them only had very little streaks of red left in them. The shield had seemingly taken all of the blood.

Seeing this Yao Fei sighed and just collected everything back into her spatial bag, including the drained corpse.

The next moment she felt her surroundings spin before she found herself sitting on Hu’s back.

“If you can protect her, stay, otherwise leave.”

The next second a howl could be heard from deeper within the forest.

Yun Tian smiled and the tiger’s expression fell before it reluctantly backed off and started to make its way out of the forest.

By this point Shen Yu could somewhat guess what was happening. As she saw Yun Tian drawing his sword, she asked, “Do you need to drop me off somewhere first?”

Yun Tian smirked and said, “Even Peak Stage Demonic Beasts can’t handle me anymore. After seeing my abilities perhaps you can worry less.”

With that, Shen Yu felt a flow of warmth and buried her head into his chest.

As for Yun Tian, he was focusing on his senses.

“It seems Bolin bit off more than he could chew. At least he’s fine though.”

Bolin was running through the trees towards him and behind him was actually a herd of beasts. A herd of buffalo. It wasn’t as large as the previous pack of wolves but their overall strength was much greater. There were actually three Peak Stage Demonic Beasts, seven Late Stage Demonic Beasts, and around twenty mid stage ones.

‘This is the strongest pack I have ever seen. But... I can handle it. Bolin is faster than them, but is deliberately luring them here.’

Yun Tian smirked, ‘He can’t wait to test out his abilities!’

He yelled out, “Take one of the Peak Stage ones,” before he disappeared from his position and rapidly advanced through the trees with the Wolf’s Lightning skill.

The ground and trees in his path were slashed or charged through as he built up speed. He was going to charge straight into the herd of buffalo.
