The Strength of Duality

Chapter 51 Healing

They all looked at the wound and Wu Chen couldn’t help but ask “How long ago did you say you got this wound?”

Wu Chen could tell from the bloodied cloth that the wound was pretty recent. Shen Yu also acted like he got wounded recently so he had no reason to believe they were lying to him.

Yun Tian did not pay attention to him though and was looking at his arm.

His arm healing process seemed much quicker than for other people and he had realized why it was not bleeding anymore. A scab had already formed over the wounds.

He could tell that while there was a scab it would still take a while for his arm to heal completely so he knew that his healing abilities weren’t completely ridiculous, but this was much faster than ordinary people.

He thought inwardly ‘This must have to do with the features of demonic beasts and my strengthened body. Being in the Dantian Building Realm also helps.’

By seeing his wound Shen Yu also could guess what was happening, but that did not completely lift her spirits. No matter how well it healed it would not stop her from imagining how gruesome the wound was and how much it hurt Yun Tian when he first got it and now.

She cried and hugged him. Everyone had noticed that he didn’t even need any help anymore. It was no longer an open and bleeding wound.

Shen Yu knew it would still hurt even if they did not need to help him. While hugging him she asked him “Does it hurt? Can I help in any way?”

“I’m fine and you hugging me makes me feel even better already so don’t worry.”

Seeing that the siblings had gone off to their own world Wu Chen and his wife off to the side had wry smiles.

Originally they were here to help someone with their wounds, but now they didn’t need to and were being ignored.

Shen Yu kept on asking how she could help and Yun Tian consoled her.

While the sight was cute to them Wu Chen was slightly annoyed at their display of affection in front of him and at being ignored.

He also decided to be on the safe side since he didn’t know how the wound on Yun Tian’s side looked like.

He said to interrupt them “I think we should check the wounds on your side too? Just in case, right?”

Hearing that Shen Yu agreed, "Yes it’s best to be safe.”

She immediately started to undress the wound on his side and was once more upset seeing the blood since this wound was more fresh than the one on his arm.

They all got a look at the wound on his side. Wu Chen and his wife sucked in a cold breath at the sight of it.

While the wound had started to scab over just like the other it was obvious that it was newer than the other and hadn’t completely scabbed over. He had also exacerbated the wound by rushing about.

The five deep claw marks on his side made Wu Chen and his wife wonder how this boy in front of them could endure it without crying.

While Yun Tian indeed had to endure a lot of pain he has gone through a lot so while his face was a bit stiff from pain he did not cry a single tear.

It was Shen Yu who cried at the sight of the wound.

She wanted to touch it and make it feel better somehow, but could only look at him in pain and couldn’t help at all. He even had to heal by himself.

She cried inwardly ‘He has to endure everything by himself! I can’t help at all. Even Bolin is already stronger than me and more useful. I’m so awful.’

Yun Tian noticed the downcast look on her face so he said, "It’s not your fault. I know you will get stronger eventually.”

He took the initiative to hug her this time and she cried on him.

She calmed down and Wu Chen’s wife asked, "Do you still want to clean your wounds with this water?”

Shen Yu thought he should still do that and wanted to help in some way so she said, "Yes I will do that.”

She took the water and a rag and brought it over to Yun Tian. What she just realized though was that she would have to touch his wound with the wet rags.

Shen Yu had managed to be careful and avoided touching his wounds this whole time previously so as to not hurt him. She ashened at the thought of hurting him now when cleaning his wounds.

Seeing that Shen Yu was just about to clean his wounds before suddenly stopping, Yun Tian said, "You don’t have to if you don’t want to. It’s also fine if you want to. Don’t worry about me. I will be fine either way.”

With that Shen Yu mustered up her courage and took the wet rag and started to clean up his wounds.

Yun Tian’s face did look like he was enduring pain as it scrunched up more slightly, but he did not make so much as a noise so as to not scare Shen Yu.

Shen Yu was as gentle as she could be and when she finished Wu Chen asked him something.

“How did your wounds heal so quickly?”

Hearing that Yun Tian thought of how he might just go back to the gate since he was fine. He also couldn’t tell him any of his secrets so he replied, "I have no idea. You also saw how surprised we were at the state of my wounds. Would you mind us staying here with you for at least the night in case they get worse?”

Hearing that and remembering their surprise earlier he realized that his words made sense so he said, "Alright that’s fine. The boys at the gate can cover for me so I will stay here with you then.”

Seeing everything was settled, Wu Chen’s wife offered, "How about I make everyone a meal then since you surely must be hungry.”

Shen Yu quickly asked, "Can I help you make it?”

Ming Yu said to her “Are sure you want to help and not just rest. I’m sure you’ve been through a lot.”

Shen Yu looked at Yun Tian and in the end decided to not help.

“Alright, I won’t help Auntie. Thank you for the concern.”

Ming Yu then said, "Lead them to the spare bedroom Wu Chen. Let them rest for a while.”
